The Budget Committee
Who are they & what do they do?
The Budget Committee is composed of members of the administration & support staff, the vice presidents & deans, and representatives from faculty, staff and students. Its primary purpose is to create an operating budget for the school for the following year, based on factors like enrollment projections for the coming year, the availability of state and federal funding, and the state of the College's endowment. After creating a preliminary budget, the Committee then presents it to the President of the College, who approves or rejects the proposal. Once the President has approved the budget, it is recommended to the Board of Trustees. The Trustees have the final say on the matter, but they rely heavily on the President & the Budget Committee to make the compromises necessary to maintain financial stability for the school. |
